The future is a New Road lying clear and open before us it is clear at this stage of our history that not only does the army cherish and serve the people, but the people themselves have grown to respect and support their army - The Guyana Defence Force. Future decades like the one past still only cement this relationship further and heighten our revolutionary social consciousness. From our inception through our unsteady infancy and our gradual maturity, in our darkest times and moments of
glory and popular acclaim, the GDF has followed the revolutionary line of the New Road laid down by the Prime Minister, government and party representing the broad masses of Guyanese people at this stage of our history. The soldiers with a single voice pledge continued service to the people and re-dedicate themselves to the achievement of its tasks within the framework of socialist development and vigilance.
